5 Tips To Make Your First Days of School Better (For Freshmen and Transfer Students)

Are you a freshman, or a transfer student on your school? Do you have any uncomfortable feeling on your first days of classes? Worry not! Here are 5 tips to make it better.

  1. Do a conversation with your new classmates. - If you are shy because of the different people around you, they are as well. So you may start by saying "Hello" or "Hi" and ask few questions about themselves. Share also yours based on what you did previously. This is one way of introducing yourself while knowing other guys/gals in class.

  2. Work on things that gives you interest. - It could grab a person's attention. Remember that there are people who will remember you because of your deeds.
  3. Participate in school activities. - Many of these are intended for you (e.g. Orientation, Acquaintance Party, Initiation Rites) . The events could help you adapt on a new environment, learn the rules and regulations and even some advice to survive the institution.
  4. Be familiar of every school landmarks. - Explore the buildings inside. If you get lost, always feel free to approach any staff to guide you.
  5. Find a peaceful place. - Maybe you just want to be alone, or you like to relax and breathe fresh air.
